I mentioned that my grandfather Levi Jenkins as one of Tom Jenkins' 10 children, however, through some digging on Ancestry.com it was discovered that Tom Jenkins also had a brother named Levi Jenkins (we could call him the other Levi Jenkins to distinguish him from my grandfather).
There was a tip from an uncle that the origin of the Jenkins is in McComb, MISS which is located in Pike County, right on the Mississippi-Louisiana state line. At some point we'll discuss the Jenkins family (or families) discovered in Pike County. Great-Uncle Levi Jenkins was discovered through these findings.
Also I had learned my mother - who married into the family - had actually met one of this Levi's sons little did she know. His name was Rev. Ellis Jenkins and in the 1970s she had met him through one of Tom Jenkins' daughters - Bertha Jenkins McGhee. Bertha was the first lady of a church in Chicago known as Christ Chapel Baptist Church located near Marquette Road & Racine Avenue. The name of her husband Rev. Charles McGhee is still on the church as a founder.
Unfortunately both Charles & Bertha McGhee had passed away over 20 years ago and my only question to my great-aunt Bertha is how did she make the connection that Ellis Jenkins - who sadly passed away in 1998 - was in fact her first cousin?
Below I will share a couple of newspaper articles found via Ancestry regarding Tom's brother Levi Jenkins. In this first one, Levi (correction was told the photo is of Levi Jenkins Jr.) is shown behind a fence with cattle in the background. As always you can click images for a larger resolution.

In this second article it shows a family reunion. Him and his children and presumably grand-children. I wonder if his son Rev. Ellis Jenkins is in this picture. This photograph was taken in 1955, however, it was published again in the McComb, MISS Enterprise Journal in June 1996.
