Let's start with this and we've covered this before. My grandfather Levi had an uncle also named Levi. And this is the best pic possible that I found.

Levi Jenkins Sr. (1892-1962) |
Wow! He almost resembles my uncle Lurenzo I can just see it. And it's interesting that his image is on an obituary from his funeral in 1962. Almost looks like a Xerox copy. It's a pretty cool find from Ancestry.
Here's one of this brothers, introducing JayGou Jenkins.

JayGou Jenkins (1894-1984)
|
Uncle JayGou is posing with his granddaughter. I presume this was taken in the 1980s before his transition in 1984. I got this photo from his granddaughter whom I had been conversing with on Ancestry.
One final pic and I never thought it was possible that we'd have it.

Cora Dancy Jenkins |
That's right, we got the image of the widow of uncle Will Jenkins. It was likely her funeral that
my mother visited with her Jenkins in-laws during the early 1970s. At the time of her death she was living with her son Hollis' family on the west side of Chicago.
In addition to Hollis whom I showed a pic of much earlier, here is one of his sisters, daughter to Will and Cora Jenkins.
 |
Clemmie Jenkins |
Clemmie (Clementine) Jenkins is one of Will and Cora's younger daughters who died in the early 2010s. It's through her granddaughter that I learned about the Jenkins reunion that
I visited last year and is coming this year which you saw advertised on this blog.
Here is one of her daughters, Claytee Harris as a child.

Claytee Harris |
I found pics of Cora, Clemmie, and Claytee through a posting on the
Jenkins fb group. Feel free to join and let them know this blog sent you.
Here's another good pic that I finally added to my tree on Ancestry. I'm glad I connected finally with his Portland, Oregon family.

Willie B. Jenkins |
My great-uncle Willie B. Jenkins. For the sake of relationships Clemmie Jenkins is his 1st cousin; Will, JayGou and Uncle Levi are his uncles; Delia Jenkins is his grandmother (also believed to be the namesake of Willie B.'s sister Delia); and of course younger brother to my grandfather Levi (believed to be the namesake of Uncle Levi). Uncle Willie B. was an army vet served during the 2nd World War - unknown if he served overseas - who moved to Portland, Oregon and started his family there. He died in 1977 not too long after his funeral, Willie B.'s younger brother David Jenkins had passed away as a result of a auto accident in Indiana.
Wait, there's more! I mentioned and yet never showed a pic of my great-great grandmother as well as paternal grandmother to Levi, Willie B., and Delia in addition to their 1st cousins Hollis, and Clemmie. Also wife of their paternal grandfather whom we know as Garrison Jenkins. Hopefully there might be a pic of him available.

Delia Jenkins with her two sons |
To Delia
Newman Jenkins left is Uncle JayGou and to her right is Uncle Levi. I can't believe the granddaughter of Uncle JayGou had a pic of Mama Delia. Makes me wonder who does my great-grandfather Tom and his brother Will resemble of those two brothers here.
If you have any pics of your own to share of any Jenkins feel free to email me.
